Otter Creek Wildlife Rescue

Donation protected
Otter Creek Wildlife Rescue has been rehabilitating and releasing orphaned and injured wild birds and mammals for over 7 years.  We have rescued and returned to the wild thousands of feathered and furry friends; trained dozens of people to competently do this work; inspired hundreds of children, through our camps, educational programs and volunteer opportunities, to care more about wildlife and handle commonly encountered situations with confidence and enthusiasm; we offer Vermonters from all across the state a ready response to their wildlife-related concerns; run a reliable transportation network; and a 24/7 dispatch service to be sure that no wildlife calls fall through the cracks; we also provide ongoing support and training for new rehabbers.  We constantly collaborate with other agencies and community groups, helping however we can to smooth the way for Vermont's wild creatures and the people who care about them.  We love doing this work!  And we do it well.

We have been awarded 501c3 non-profit status!  So after years of working three other jobs so I can afford to do this one effectively, we can now accept donations to help cover our many expenses :)

We will greatly appreciate your help!
Can you make a donation?  (It will be tax deductible.)
Do you know other people who  would value our work, and consider contributing?
Will you spread the word about us?
I am asking for only a fraction of what we spend -- but this will help a lot!
We pull no salaries, and over 95% of funds are spent directly on wildlife care.

Five of our beloved volunteers start college this fall.  We are so proud of Sophia, Clara, River, Jessie, and Seamus  -- and will miss them all dearly.  On Aug. 23, we invite all of our friends and supporters to a gala at the Vergennnes Opera House to celebrate these splendid young people and send them off in style.  The Grift will play for us, wonderful dance music so wear comfortable shoes!  Good food and drink will be provided, catering by the wonderful Marcia deGraaf.  We will have a silent auction, with treasures generously donated by local businesses and supporters.  And you can count on great company.  Formal or cocktail attire is recommended (since we are all accustomed to seeing each other with bird poop in our hair, etc., we thought dressing up would be fun!), but is not required.  Doors open at 7PM; band begins at 7:30.  After 10PM, we will have DJ A-ra$, hot Burlington DJ, playing dance music until we wear out.  Everyone who donates to our gofundme campaign will be on our guest list and welcome to attend free of charge.

Thank you for your help!  Please donate generously -- every small and large contribution helps us help wildlife.  And please spread the word.
The birds and mammals in our care thank you kindly :)
