Ottawa Songwriters Uplifting the Mayfair

Donation protected

Like many businesses during the pandemic, Ottawa's beloved Mayfair Theatre is struggling to pay the rent during these challenging times. Located on Bank Street at Sunnyside in Old Ottawa South, the theatre has long been a favourite destination for movie fans of all kinds. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the theatre to close on multiple occasions and now the music community and other friends of the theatre have  banded together to help  raise much needed funds in order to keep the lights on and the projector running.

Lee Demarbre, programmer at the Mayfair Theatre, is himself a filmmaker and passionate film enthusiast. “I am delighted to have the support of the music community to help us keep the Mayfair going during these tough Covid times,” he says.

While encouraging donations while this campaign remains active, we invite all to join in on OSUM (pronounced AWESOME!) on Sat. May 15 at 7:00 PM and Sun. May 16 at 2:00 PM, an engaging musical event that will include performances by local musicians, a silent auction and more.

Updated links to the online free and ticketed streams will be posted soon here so stay tuned!
