Ottawa Firefighters Cancer Support Fund

Not all cancers Ontario Firefighters are stricken with are covered by WSIB. Pancreatic cancer is not a presumptive cancer.  Brother Martin Michels has been fighting Pancreatic cancer for just over two years. After turning 65 the Ontario Provincial plan takes over from the private medical coverage with fewer medications and treatments being covered.  The biweekly cost for Martin's current chemotherapy is $3,689.59. Several Ottawa Firefighters have been afflicted with this cancer which again is not considered a presumptive cancer.  Hopefully we can attain sufficient funds to assist not only Martin but others both now and in the future by making this fund permanent.  Please donate what you can.
