Ottawa Fire

My dear friend and her mother suffered a major loss after an electrical fire broke out in the panel beside their apartment.   As the fire melted their door down and smoke filled their home, her mother was stranded on the balcony not sure if she would make it out.  Paramedics and Firefighters carried her down 21 flights of stairs as she is not very mobile.  They have been faced with so much fire and smoke damage to their home that unfortunately not much is left to salvage.  

The true devastation is that they did not have tenant insurance to cover their belongings.  

My friend has been a caregiver to her mother for several years now ever since her mother was in a serious car accident that broke her back and caused a serious head injury.  She has been the sole earner to pay the rent, groceries, bills and medical costs that are now starting to pile up.

These two have had some bad luck over the last decade but somehow remain positive and thankful for everything they have.  More than anything, the bond they have with one another as mother and daughter is something so rare.  

Currently living in a hotel, they are trying to get their lives back on track and start new and need help to get there.
