Mike Bast's Medical/Rehab Expenses

Please help the legendary Mike Bast, 7 time US National Speedway Champion, with his expensive hospital bill and rehabilitation efforts. Mike suffered an ischemic stroke caused by interruption of blood supply to the cerebral artery in the brain, which interfers with speech and motor skills. As a result, Mike will have to undergo extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation to learn to regain balance and learn how to walk again.
Those of you that know Mike and Dee Ann know that they have been married for 41 years and through that time Mike has financially supported his wife and family via real estate. However, when the housing bubble burst what would have been Mike and Dee's retirement was quickly lost to the worst economic downturn since The Great Depression. To make ends meet Mike had been selling and installing awnings. In fact, it was when he was with one of his sons just after an awning installation that he first suffered the stroke. And now we have been told that he will never be able to work again.
He has had to undergo many expensive tests, scans, and a lengthy hospital stay only to be told that the hardest part of recovery lay ahead in the form of intense physical therapy. The expense incurred by this stroke and the impending cost of physical therapy is more than the family can handle. So with that we humbly ask for your support in the form of a donation so that we might see this speedway legend get a chance to throw a leg over a bike again someday.
