No plin. No Negronis. At least for now.
Osteria Langhe employees were laid off, without warning, with no time to prepare financially. Obviously, this is an unprecedented situation that is threatening the entire restaurant industry, in every city. They, along with millions of other hospitality workers across the country, are taking one for the team to help stem the spread of COVID-19.
And what a one it is.
Due to the hard work and passion of small business-owned restaurants like Osteria Langhe and its staff, the Logan Square community is richer (and a few pounds heavier). Aldo and Cameron opened Osteria Langhe almost six years ago. They and their staff have served their neighbors tirelessly since.
Financial aid for hospitality workers and owners is still unclear; but rent, utilities, student loans, prescriptions, child care, car and credit card payments, and, you know, food, still needs to be paid for in the next couple of weeks.
Please donate to support the staff during this forced furlough. Donate, if not to keep them afloat until the doors reopen and the pasta starts being rolled again, but to say thank you.
Thank you for wishing my friend a happy birthday when we came to celebrate. Thank you for finding me a table on a busy Saturday night. Thanks for the perfect wine and food pairing - and the amazing Negronis we had beforehand. Thank you for always, ALWAYS, making delicious and unique food.
