Do you know the power of a bowl of soup?

When Michelle Kendall, 46, was finishing her second round of chemotherapy to treat ovarian cancer, leaving her Santa Barbara home became dangerous. With a compromised immune system, the seemingly benign act of stepping out the front door now exposed her to life-endangering germs. That’s when Organic Soup Kitchen stepped in.

Organic Soup Kitchen delivers organic, nutritionally-dense soups to patients undergoing cancer treatments, fighting degenerative diseases, and low-income seniors. Using organic, non-GMO, gluten-free products and certified non-irradiated herbs,

OSK soups are high in antioxidants and packed with anti-inflammatory ingredients.

Cancer patients often experience malnutrition due to the side effects of both the disease and the treatments. Malnutrition can cause detrimental delays in treatment and severely impact a patient’s quality of life. OSK soups are designed to be nutritious, gentle to eat, and delicious.

“It was certainly healthier than anything I felt like making. And not venturing out for shopping kept me from catching the flu or even a cold. My oncologist was thrilled that I stayed healthy throughout flu season.”

Now 10 years strong, Organic Soup Kitchen is moving into a centrally-located headquarters featuring a vastly improved kitchen. With critical retrofitting, the new kitchen will allow OSK to streamline production and improve efficiency.

OSK needs a 60-gallon steam kettle in order to complete the retrofitting.  The steam kettle is a key feature of the new kitchen’s design and fundamental to helping OSK grow to meet increasing demand in every south coast community.

Cancer leaves devastation in its wake. The physical, emotional, and financial burdens of a cancer diagnosis touch not only on the patient and their family but the entire community. Organic Soup Kitchen is dedicated to supplying support where it is most needed.

This Go Fund Me campaign is a direct invitation to be part of the solution. From ladles to steam kettles, every single donation is an important step toward fueling cancer recovery and fostering community wellness.
