Oscar Harvey Foundation - (currently setting up)

Today marks 6 months since my 16-year-old brother Oscar took his own life. It has been an extremely difficult and traumatic time for my family and I, along with all the other lives Oscar has touched.

 

In memory of Oscar, we want to launch the “Oscar Harvey foundation”. This will be dedicated to raising money for young people to be able to reach out, express how they feel and get the help they deserve. We will also help survivors of suicide and offer support for Bereaved families.

 

Our aim is to raise £16,000 minimum on this first fundraising event, to celebrate Oscar’s 16 years here with us.

 

We will be walking up Ben Nevis with friends and family to raise money for the foundation, which is currently in the process of being set up.

 

We will be walking in June 2023, which is the week of Oscar’s 18th birthday. We are dedicating all our efforts to you Oscar and aim to ensure more families receive help through traumatic and heart-breaking times.

This year we will be organising a walk in memory of Oscar for his 17th birthday, June 2022.

 

I’m proud to share that at the age of 13, Oscar signed up to become an organ donor without informing us, which we were made aware after his passing. This touched us and helped us to remember our little man, who was so thoughtful and who only wanted to help others. From this selfless act Oscar has gone on to save the lives of 5 others, ranging from as young as a baby girl to 50 years old.

 

Oscar was a Highly sensitive child and empath (HSC). He was his own person and shone in many ways. Extremely bright, his character took you by surprise when you weren’t paying attention. We all miss you more and more everyday little man ❤️.

 

The foundation is currently being set up, I currently stand as a co-founder and would like to start fundraising as soon as possible for such an amazing cause.
