Dear Friends, Family & Colleagues;
In 1982, Foyer Des Filles De Dieu was founded by Mrs. Paula Thybulle in an effort to provide a sanctuary to many orphaned girls of all ages. Since its inception, we have taken in hundreds of children who have been abandoned or physically and sexually abused. Our goal has always been to strengthen, educate and empower these children.
Foyer Des Filles De Dieu is located in Santo #2 & #4, within La Plaine, Haiti. We currently care for sixty (60) little girls.
Unfortunately, on Monday, March 19, 2018, Mrs. Paula Thybulle suffered a massive heart attack in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Due to the lack of fully functioning hospitals, medical care and medical equipment, Mrs. Thybulle was not able to receive the immediate life sustaining medical attention that she desperately needed. Regrettably, Paula succumbed to her heart failure and died at 5:30am.
As a result of the founder’s passing, the Orphanage has been going through an extremely challenging but natural transition. However, we have also been faced with an overwhelming amount of obstacles, as well as financial hardships. For example, it’s been 6 months since our devoted employees have been paid; Our high-school students haven’t been able to start their 2018/19 scholastic year due to tuition requirements; Our electrical transformer exploded in April; The generator has stopped working; The girls are in need of clothes, school uniforms, shoes, hygiene & feminine products... Etc.
I am humbly reaching out to all of my friends, family & colleagues for your financial assistance. Any help that you are able to extend will assist in alleviating some of these issues that we’ve encountered.
