Orphanage for Congolese street kids

Honestly, I went to Congo to visit the mountain gorilla’s and hike up to the Nyiragongo volcano. At my first day we went shopping for food and I noticed kids covered in dirt, sleeping on plastic garbage with a waterbottle as pillow. I asked my guide where the parents were and he told me that they had no parents... They had died due to war / volcanic eruption or left their kids behind :(
This broke my heart and at that moment we had already spent all our money so we told them that we would come back to help them.
Some more walking and driving around in the city and I noticed that these kids aren’t a exception. There are countless...
Time for action:
We arranged a diner for 26 of the kids and tried to find our kids and we did. After eating chips with chicken and salad we danced and played football and it was really a beautiful night full of children just being children. Letting them return to the streets was hard but we were hoping to give them a home soon. The contract is signed and a team is formed.
So on 26/01/2020 we started an orphanage for 24 kids but we reallly need money to make it to a place that requires the needs of these kids.
Sad truth is that most of our children are the victims of sexual abuse and some of them use drugs :( They are aged 8 to 14.

We have collected a lot of stuff (Clothing, shoes etc.) as gifts from people in the Netherlands :) Thankyou all for this :)

I am on my way to Goma to build the house and give the children their new clothes, shoes, school-stuff and toys.
UPDATE (04/04/2020)
We are currently building the orphanage. As you can see in our pictures on instagram we already finished the toilet-pit, foundation, walls and monday we will start with the roof.
However we really need your help because we are running out of money and getting donations is hard in these days :(

I hope that in the future it will not stay to only this orphanage and we can start a high-school for kids in Goma. With high standards like Cambridge English, Controlled exams and international partnership.
This so they can join quality universities all around the world and bring the knowlegde back to Congo and lead this country forward.
Dreams are there to be made true and these kids really need you to give them a chance!”
