Orphanage & School of Tim Harrington-

Orphanage and School of Tim Harrington Fundraiser
TJ "Hiker" Jerome and Yesaya Mwashala
Over the last six years of visiting Tanzania to hike Mt Kilimanjaro with clients, I have made several visits to local orphanages near Moshi and Arusha, Tanzania. Personally seeing the conditions under which these children live, there was little I could do to help other than, along with friends and clients,  bring small donations of food and school supplies to the school. Many of these children have no parents. I've seen the deplorable conditions in which they live outside of the school by visiting the communities.  I have seen where they live when they are not at the school.  Many children don't have sponsors to cover the expense to live at the school and they are shuttled to and from the school, often times arriving unbathed and unfed. Now I have the opportunity to ask for help in providing the new school site in Korogwe with a water source and electricity.  The money raised will provide them with  the below listed access to water, electricity, road repair and additional  supplies such as beds, clothing and school supplies.
About the Orphanage & School- The original orphanage and school was founded by Yesaya Mwashala and located in Arusha, Tanzania.  They are in in the process of moving to the new site in Korogwe, Tanzania. The reason for the relocation is to incorporate sustainable farming on the sites 13.5 acre lot . By doing this, they will be able to grow most of their own grains and greens, as well as fruit. This new location will also provide a safer location to kids who have been victims of sexual & domestic abuse as well as use by adults for drug and human trafficking.

The school will be able to house, feed and cloth 42 children and provide educational services to them, as well as education to over 100 children living in the communities living off site in Korogwe.

For those skeptical about fundraisers, I understand and share your sentiment. I have personally met on multiple occasions the schools founder, Yesaya Mwashala, and consider him a friend. He has personally provided me a tour of just a few of the aforementioned communities. Contact Me if you have additional questions about this fundraiser and how the money will be spent.

As we reach the following goals, the listed items below and, in this order, can be accomplished:

1.  $3200 USD = Short Term Water Solution will be to construct a 120,000  rain-water collection tank for water that will be used for cooking, bathing, cleaning, drinking & irrigating fields for food that will provide sustainable farming.

2.  $2720 USD= Will provide access to electricity for the school

3. $1650 USD= There is a 2.1 km/.62-mile portion of road between the main road and the school that currently requires jeep to access. These funds will provide road maintenance and easier access to the school.

4. $7500 USD= Services to bore for on site well water.

5. $3771 USD=  Goes to  Go Fund Me &  bank transfer fees, volunteer & admin  expenses as well as a $1000 USD discretionary spending for new beds, bedding, text books, school supplies and other expenses for the new site.

For those of you that have the means to help, any amount will be so very much appreciated.  Please share this with those who will also share so that together, we can change lives.
