Kamuli Community Brass Band is a fully registered legally charity Organization, found in Uganda-East Africa and in Kamuli district, it was started in 2017 by TIBAGALIKA GEOFREY with a goal of creating an indigenous community brass band. See our credentials here: Accreditation as NGO
This program is music for opportunities for socio, economic change and empowerment, to improve the status of disadvantaged children/ youth in Kamuli district and surrounding areas through developing their music talents through Brass /jazz Band Music both theory and practical in Kamuli district.
In our project (Kamuli community brass band) area number of Orphans and Street Children are found. The problem of orphan / street children is acute due to the deaths of HIV/AIDS affected persons, Re-marriage of deserted / widowed / divorce women, absence of love and security in the families, Family disputes, Unwanted pregnancy of Trafficking / Sexually exploited girls; these orphan and street children are left without care and support.
Our Mission:
Providing care, support & protection through shelter, food, and education through the Kamuli community brass band.
Summary
This ORPHAN CHILDREN HOME aims to provide care, support and protection for 40 orphan & street children.
All the children are being provided with 3 time’s nutritious food, every child has opportunity to learn music and play a musical instrument (to join the Kamuli community brass band).
How will this project solve our problem?
We are currently renting a dormitory which occupies 40children (orphans & street children).
By fully finishing the construction and equipment of the house we have selected in the neighborhood, this will automatically save the money we spend monthly on the dormitory rent - 400,000 Uganda shillings per month - which can be used to feed the children.
This proposal covers 40 children (orphans & street children). All these children are in Kamuli community brass band.
We have been running the Orphanage with band savings from concerts and gigs, local donations and contributions from friends only.
We mobilizing both cash and kind. We have limited resources to take care of about 40 orphan / semi orphan / street children.
But, day by day number of children are increasing due to various reasons.
We need additional support from the donors and philanthropists to meet the needs of increasing orphan / semi orphan / street children in our center. We seek support to help us finish this permanent house to accommodate the children. Meanwhile, we will sustain to mobilize continuous local donations through exhibiting our good brass band work and service.
This home will have one Care Taker who, besides handling day-to-day administration, will look after the hostel as warden.
One cook, One Watchman for security purpose at the home.
Total Budget: 25,000 Euros, for construction and finishing so that the house is in great condition to accommodate the children.
