Hello friends and family,
As many of you know, Eric was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in January, 2015. The doctors wanted to remove his prostate, which the side effects are extensive. Eric called a time out and set into his research mode. He studied reports, clinical trials, reports from Urologists who are pioneers in their field. He finally found FLA (Focal Laser Ablation). It has been in clinical trials for 9 years now and being practiced by about 5 doctors in the US on a regular basis. It has a 96% success rate. Unfortunately, it comes with a price tag of $30,000 and Insurance will not cover it because it is so new.
The good news...
Eric and Amy flew to NYC on March 11th and Eric's treatment was performed on March 12th. The doctor removed all cancer and Eric is cancer free at this moment.
In Eric's words, "The amount of people who displayed genuine caring and sincere compassion blew me a way and made me see the light in this world. People who I have not seen in 20 or 25 years reaching out, calling me and asking me in a sincere manner if there is anything they can do for me, but the biggest thing was these people lifting me up and supporting me and telling me how much of a difference I have made in their lives and I just get real emotional as I am so taken away by how kind people can be to me and others. I honestly did not think the world had this left in it. I see the light in the world now. It has hope. Humanity has hope. I am so thankful for all my friends who have reached out and offered such kind and supportive and encouraging words. They have affected my soul in a positive manner. My journey is far from over in this battle. But I will beat this damn thing with the collaborative efforts of my Faith in God and his healing powers and grace, and the friends and supportive people in my life that breathe hope and light into my world, and by my sheer will-power, determination, self discipline and strength, which are all traits given to me by my creator. Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers."
As friends of the Kinneman family, we are hoping to lessen the financial burden that the Kinneman Family is now facing. As the fact is...they still have bills waiting for them at the end of the day.
Funds raised directly through this site are subject to a 5% fee from each donation and a small processing fee of about 3% will also be deducted from each donation. Donors are charged only the amount they choose to donate and that's it.
