Operation: Set us free

We all think we know the signs. We all think it won't happen to us. Domestic violence comes in multiple forms.
Let me tell you a story about my sister. She met this amazing guy 9 years ago. Handsome. Successful. Charming. They fell in love and her and my oldest niece moved to another state for his job. She now has 3 children. Slowly, things became abusive and She soon had no access to their money and he would give her an "allowance" for what she thought they'd need in a month. Both of their kids have a very rare disease that makes them very sick and unable to eat almost all food, they have to go in to get expensive treatments and medication constantly. Sometimes this allowance has not even covered the kids medical needs (she regularly only has $20 in her account, which does not cover a copay or the medication they need ). Most recently, he left her with no access to their finances, removed her from all bank accounts, she has no money for food, gas or to care for her children. She's been a stay at home mom for the last 6 years and is in need of a hand up, not a hand out. He has financially abandoned his family & it is so hard for her to ask for help, even though she desperately needs it right now. My sister has gained the strength to file for divorce and is in search of a job to provide for her 3 children, please think about donating to her and my nieces and nephew. I cannot think of a more worthy person of a little bit of help. Abuse truly comes in all forms, and this has left the 4 of them without, scared and needing some extra love.
