Operation Respite: Wayne's Warriors

Donation protected
Wayne Miller, a Diamond vocalist with Rock & Roll, Vocal Group and Grammy Halls of Fame artist The Platters® , has suddenly been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Neurolymphomatosis. This is in addition to his non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Needless to say, after singing for the better part of 25 years with The Platters', including founding and naming member Herb Reed, while bringing smiles to the faces of literally thousands across the globe, Wayne is no longer able to perform with his beloved group, and that has put him in a serious financial situation.  This page has been set up to accommodate Wayne's friends and fans from around the world who wish to make a donation to support his battle. On Sunday, February 18, 2018, The Platters will be hosting a living benefit-tribute for Wayne called The Red & White Dance Party, an Evening of Love, Light & Laughter at the Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus, Massachusetts. There will be special guest appearances and performances throughout the evening by artists of music, comedy, stage and screen. Net proceeds from ticket sales at this event will also benefit Wayne's medical costs. Any donation, large or small, is appreciated. If you are unable to make a financial commitment at this time, PLEASE pray for Wayne's remission in your own way. ***A personal note from Wayne *** Hi all ... It's been a surreal few months to say the least.... What began as a routine trip to my PCP at Fenway Community Health for throat/lower extremity issues would subsequently lead to a visit to the ER at Beth Israel for Neurological tests , admittance and consequently a diagnosis of a form of lymphoma on my upper spine. It took 4 hospital stays , numerous MRI's, several spinal taps, a bone marrow biopsy and finally a nerve root biopsy for doctors to figure out what was goin on with me . Despite my diagnosis, I'm NOT suffering nor am I in any pain per se. The nerve root biopsy adversely affected my left leg and I'm using a cane to get around. Physical thearpy will be a big help restoring my leg to full use . It's been a struggle since the advent of all this ...nobody plans for a medical emergency but I'm buoyed by the love and support I've recieved from family and friends. I wanted to take this moment to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, waYne
