God values the life of every baby that is aborted throughout the world on a daily basis. He also values the lives of the mothers who choose to abort them. Many of these mothers feel that abortion is their only option, because they are unwilling or unable to care for a little life. We desire to be used by God to give the mother another option and give the baby life. We also pray for an opportunity to share Christ with this family, if they don’t have a relationship with him. Everyone does not feel led or is not able to adopt. However, there are many other ways you can help. The most important way anyone can help is to pray - for us, the birth family, and the baby. Secondly, you can give. Adoption is a very expensive process, as I will explain further later. For our friends and family that are distant from us, we are setting up a GoFundMe to allow you the opportunity to help from afar. Thirdly, we will likely be doing various types of fund raisers that we will need help with. Things we have initially thought about doing are yard sales and a 5k run. Finally, we don’t have it all figured out and are open to your ideas and other ways you can find to contribute. There are many unknowns right now, but we will be using our blog and our social medias to keep you updated on ways to help and specific things to pray for as we go through this process. We don’t want people to think we are doing this and just asking others to foot the bill. This is something that we feel led to do, and we intend to work as much as is necessary until we reach the goal. For starters, I plan to volunteer for as much overtime as work will allow me. However, we do want to give anyone who wants to help an opportunity to take part in the blessing of providing life for one of God’s little ones.

As I stated above, adoption is a very expensive process. We plan to work with a ministry called Faithful Adoption Consultants (FAC) throughout this process. The following is an excerpt taken from our communication with FAC:
“The cost of each situation varies based on a number of factors. The majority of situations we see range from $37,000-$50,000. The agencies and attorneys we network with base the cost for each situation on the following factors:
* Duration of care for the birth mother (housing, utilities, other essential needs)
* Social services for the birth mom including transportation to and from appointments and counseling services for her both before and after the birth
* Administrative costs for case management
* Legal costs associated with the relinquishment of parental rights
* Birth certificates and other document procurement
* Birth mother’s medical expenses, if not covered by Medicaid
* Costs associated with the ICPC process”

Additionally:
“There is a federal statutory agreement between all 50 states called the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (also referred to as ICPC), which governs the legal placement of children across state lines. Because of this process, you will need to plan on being in the state where the baby was born for 10-15 days in order for this process to be completed. Once “clearance” of ICPC has happened, you will be able to return to your home state with your baby.”

Any funds contributed to this cause will go for the things stated above, general care for the child after adoption, and/or further donated to assist another family involved in adoption.
