Gear Up! #OPERATION252 Community Summer Fest

#Operation252 was established by Alec Virgil, a Wilson, NC native with a goal to give back tremendously to his home community. This operation was put in place to provide a brand new pair of shoes to two hundred and fifty-two school-aged children every Winter Holiday season.

On August 5, 2023, we’d love to have, YOU, the community, join us at 252 PALOOZA, a fundraising, 4-hour block party in support of our annual December brand-new shoe giveaway, where we aim to give away over 250 pairs of brand new shoes. On August 5, we are going to give back to the community while also providing a fun and engaging event. Activities will be available for everyone to enjoy!

Multiple points of data show that children perform better academically and socially when they have higher efficacy and self-confidence. Operation 252 is a nonprofit organization geared toward helping youth become self-confident, self-directed, and successful a healthy educational experience.

In December 2022, we collected a worth of $8000 of brand new shoes and other items to give to children and their families. We were able to serve 147 children with at least one brand new pair of shoes. Each family member was able to walk away not only with a brand new pair of shoes, but also with a hot plate of food, hygiene items, and cleaning products for their homes.
