Operation Warm-up: Handwarmers for the homeless

My son, Emmett, recently saw a video of a homeless gentleman who was struggling to get food and stay warm. It REALLY bothered him for DAYS. He said "it breaks my heart to see that" and then he asked if we could do something to help him.

Now, we may not be able to help that exact person in the YouTube video, but we CAN do something locally.

With temperatures dipping below -20º this week, we can all agree that it's FRIGID... but imagine if you had to spend the day outside. Windchills will be -40º or colder!

So... we're headed to buy a bunch of disposable hand warmers for our local homeless shelter. The shelter is ALMOST OUT and the cold weather isn't even here yet!

I'm a proponent of the philosophy that says "when you give, do it in private and let no one know." BUT... I also think we could help Emmett make and even BIGGER impact if we open this up a little and let others chip in. :)

Are you tired of all the negativity online? Ever think that "someone should do something?" Well... here's an easy way to do that. We'll purchase and deliver all the hand warmers to our local shelter between now and the end of the day 1/30.

Let's help Emmett make a difference!

"You must be the change you want to see in the world."
