Friends. This is beyond me.

As most of you know, I am an aspiring teacher. I was smack dab in the middle of the Early Childhood Education program at Elgin Community College when the pandemic hit. I took this semester off to gather my head and eventually help care for my dad who was recently diagnosed with advanced staged lung cancer.

After a series of many unfortunate events, my entire family contracted COVID-19 at the end of November. We all became very, very sick and at one point, all 3 of us were hospitalized. My mother is still hospitalized on high flow oxygen (we're going on 16 days now) and my father now requires home oxygen as well. Although still recovering, I am now my dad's 24/7 caregiver and will also be my mom's once she's home.

I have not been to work since mid November and haven't been cleared yet to return until at least the end of January 2021. I do get temporary disability funds through my job, however it is only a percentage of what i normally make and it's barely enough to cover my bills.

I need to stay on track so i don't lose my place in the program. I am also hoping to finish the Early Childhood Education state certification in 2021 so i can finally pursue my bachelor's in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

I don't like asking for help, but i don't have any other option. School starts January 16th, and i need to come up with a plan to pay for it fast. I am thankful if you are able to give, share, or send well wishes. You've all been so supportive already and myself and my family thank you all.

Blessings to you. Thanks again. I am undeserving!
