Operation Send Christmas

The Elier Vela Foundation was started by Karen Pedigo to celebrate the memory of Elier Vela who served in the U.S. Army. During his time in Iraq, we wrote & became best friends who loved each other. While he was deployed, I had 3 heart surgeries. He lived through rough living conditions & being shot out by the enemy. We got each other through what we thought was the worst year of our lives. He then came home to get & die from testicular cancer the following year. While he was deployed, he only asked for items for his fellow soldiers who didn't receive much or any mail. Each year we send care packages to those deployed in his memory. At Christmas, we have a huge packing party & send as many care packages as we can to those deployed around the world. Each year we grow in the number of care packages we send & the number of countries we send love to our deployed military members. We are asking for assistance to fill & ship the care packages. Each care package costs $17.95 to ship. Shipping & contents cost about $25. One hundred percent of the funds goes to the care packages & contents. Everyone who helps is strictly volunteers! We would love to have your support to remind our military members serving around the world how much America loves them & is proud of them!
