"'♪ ♫ 'Tis the season to be jolly,
fa la la la la, la la la laa ♫ ..."
And to be kind and giving.
Duly, this is my Christmas plan, in support of several charities. And I hope you can help me with sponsorship, with no amount being considered too small.
On December 9, I will travel from the town of Åsele in Lappland, and make my way south to Stockholm -- by bus, train and subway -- dressed as Santa Claus, to attend the Santa Run on Dec 10, which will feature hundreds of Santas in the Swedish capital's Kungsträdgården park.
The Santa Run is a fund-raising event, and proceeds will go to Médecins Sans Frontières and two Swedish children's charities, namely Aktivis and Barncancerfonden.
Moreover, I will be heading my own charity drive, "Operation Saint Nicholas", by means of this jouney from Sweden's Far North to the capital and the world-famous Santa Run, and two weeks of volunteer work.
Operation Saint Nicholas benificaries will be a Stockholm charity for the homeless, Stadsmissionen. And -- because Christmas is all about Children -- the United Nations children's charity, UNICEF.
Deducted from the total sum raised here will be the cost of a durable Santa Claus outfit.
The full remaining balance will go to Stockholm Stadsmissionen and UNICEF.
December 10-26, I will be working as a volunteer at Stadsmissionen (the first two days I will be in training).
Your generosity will make a postive difference for Stockholm's homeless, as well as countless disadvantaged youngsters around the world.
Your donations will go to GoFundMe, and will thence be distrubted to the named charities by the Operation Saint Nicholas treasurer, Annika Gustafson, with all receipts shown on this website and my FB page, as well as updates through to the new year.
Thank you for your Yuletide kindess, and I wish you all a wonderful festive season!
