The Veterans Art Center Tampa Bay has had to adapt to these unusual times, just like most of you. We are working a new plan to "Restart" our offerings to Bay area Veterans, First Responders, Active Military, and their families. We will be continuing our mission of Alternative Therapy for treating PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and Suicide Prevention, through participation in hands-on Art creation, but now, in a more virtual setting.
Beginning immediately, we will offer classes on our website, "ForceForArt.org", and with our partners, in shared classroom and meeting spaces around the Tampa Bay community.
To accomplish or mission, we need new "Ambassadors" of the arts, to help us spread the word, and recruit volunteers, contributors, and friends of the VACTB, with donations of funds, art supplies, and their time.
To us, nothing is more important than providing those who served us, an opportunity to heal, grow, and adapt to a more normal life. Our vets need our support, so that they can enjoy so many of the activities that we take for granted daily.
We are planning an event to show them how much we care, and to raise funds to provide them with opportunities to participate in proven therapies that alleviate so many of the symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress, and other service-related injuries, seen and unseen. Art therapy is helping them make great strides toward recovery, as studies have proven, so, we are planning our "Operation: Re-Launch" event for sometime at the end of this summer, 2020.
To do this, we need your help. Ironically, fundraising requires funds to successfully plan, schedule, and coordinate the venues and volunteers needed to accomplish this mission. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and will go a long way to help us help those who served.
By becoming a supporter of the Veterans Art Center Tampa Bay, you're backing up the statement "thank you for your service", and in so doing, becoming a "Force For ART"!
