Operation Loki
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
As many people know, my best friend Julie had her companion Loki go missing 6 weeks ago in Piedmont, Haymarket VA. During these 6 weeks, we have had so much support from the community by sharing posts of Loki missing, allowing flyers to be posted on businesses all around Gainesville/Haymarket, families leaving food/water outside for Loki, families allowing traps being set up in their backyard in case Loki is close by, parents informing us of their children out riding bikes in search of finding Loki, countless of people who took time from their day and their work to drive their car through neighborhoods for Loki, and so much more. The effort and support has been overwhelming and appreciated. After many efforts to catch Loki on the cameras set up in the woods, there was finally a sighting of her tail captured in an image. At 5 AM today, Julie’s sister Courtney was able to spot Loki near one of the camera/food stations & lure her back to the family.
Loki was immediately brought to the Emergency Vet, where they performed blood work and an x-ray for her severe broken leg. Originally, it was suggested that Loki undergoes amputation of her leg. After receiving a second opinion from an Orthopedic Specialist, if Loki’s blood work looks good again this Monday (9/16) then a surgery will be scheduled for her on Thursday (9/19). The vet expenses are estimating between $6000-7000, as of now.
I have created this GoFundMe to help Julie with the overwhelming vet expenses to get Loki healthy again! ❤️ A little can go a long way, thank you!
