OPERATION HOME: SUPPORT FOR AFGHAN INTERPRETERS

RFH IS RAISING MONEY TO HELP AFGHAN INTERPRETERS & THEIR FAMILIES GET NEEDED SUPPORTS WHEN THEY COME TO AMERICA.

Racing For Heroes was founded by U.S. Army Special Forces (aka Green Berets) to support veterans and their families. It is clear that the events of the past days in Afghanistan have had a major impact on the lives of many of those Interpreters and their families who are desperately trying to get out of the country to start their lives anew. These served alongside our military service personnel at great personal risk to themselves over the past 20 years. With the collapse of the Afghani Government to the Taliban, they are now on the wrong side of the situation. Don't let the failures to manage the withdrawal from Afghanistan equal a failure of us to help.

We cannot leave them behind to face summary justice at the whim of the Taliban nor evacuate them with nothing to help them when they come here. It is time for us to help. We expect that in the coming days, these interpreters and their families will begin arriving in their new home in America, and we need to embrace them and provide the needed supports to start those new lives and hopefully live the Dream that their home country cannot and will not give them, but we can.

Every $5,000 given equals one family given help to start their new lives in America. This help will include individual donations, coordinated services provided by our staff at RFH, such as employment help and housing help. We will work to connect these individuals with the actual military veterans they served alongside. This is to help them build upon the connections they already have.

This program is about giving a hand up to get them on their way toward becoming Americans who fought for life and liberty.

We will be setting up an application process to ensure that the Afghanis we serve truly served alongside US Forces to ensure that we give as much as possible to the people who gave so much to us. We want to make sure that we truly honor the people who helped us at great risk to themselves.

FUNDING

The money will be paid to and distributed from Racing For Heroes, our 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Alton, Virginia. This funding will be earmarked for the Community Engagement Program within Racing For Hereos as the most appropriate location for the funds' expenditure. Funds in excess will be used for our Health and Wellness Programs to support veterans and the Afghani Interpreter community.
