For over a decade, Operation Cover Chicago has raised money to give toys to Chicago's young people in need.
But the toy is just a start. Your donation tells a child that their narrative has changed, and that they are worthy of love and kindness.
With your donation to this GoFundMe, you will be giving a toy and hope to thousands of 3 to 15 year-old Chicago kids in need.
In 2022, Operation Cover Chicago raised $70,000 to give away 17,000 toys. But this barely met the overwhelming demand. And with ongoing economic struggles, 2023 will need more support than ever to serve our community.
Please join Operation Cover Chicago 2023 at Another Chance Church at 9550 South Harvard Ave on December 20th at 7:00 PM.
But please donate to this GoFundMe page TODAY so that every attendee can receive love and a toy at Christmas. We need to reach our fundraising goal by December 15th to help all the kids in need.
100% of all proceeds raised will be used towards the Christmas toy giveaway. Please consider giving one of these amounts to help the most children as possible:
- $35 will help a family of 1
- $175 will help a family of 5
- $300 will help a family of 10
Chicago's parents continue to have to choose between safety and education, as 27% of employed members of our community are now unemployed or underemployed. In the last few years, over 50% of Chicago Public School students did not log on for e-learning, and almost 5% of students are registered as homeless.
And while we know that this won’t solve the ongoing problems in our community, we are certain that for one day, tens of thousands of children and families can experience the joy and hope the Christmas Season can bring.
