Operation CHRISTMAS for Family in NEED

Donation protected

Hello LAKERS!
I come to you with a Christmas request for a family in need. I have seen how you all band together and lift those around us up during challenging times and we all know 2020 has been difficult, for some more than others.

A local family of 6 needs our help this season.

Recently,  the father of the family had intensive neck surgery, which was scheduled to be done right before he started his new job at the University  of Akron. However, he just received news that the doctor won’t clear him to return to work for 12 weeks and the University  of Akron cannot hold the position for him that long. Having already left his old job and now unable to collect unemployment in between jobs, he finds himself facing no income for 3 months over the holiday season and missing out on what was to be a promising job for his family.

His wife runs an in-home day care. However, her numbers have been low all year due to parents not working and covid. She is barely scrapping by while caring for her husband following neck surgery.

The couple has been proactively working  door-dash in the evenings to keep food on the table.  Many times the oldest teens have to watch the toddler so the parents can earn enough to squeak by.

Their 15 year old daughter suffered from covid just a few weeks ago. She has recovered.

When the father had received news he had earned the position at the University of Akron, the couple believed they were finally getting a break and just yesterday that relief was ripped from them and now head into the holiday season with no means of income to pay bills or provide their 4 children with a Christmas.

Although I would like this family to remain anonymous. Many may recognize their story, as they are well known members of our community. They are active members of Cornerstone church, even offering their home lately to serve as a “home church”. Their 4 children are bright and active members of our little community. They’ve been taught to work for what you want and excel in both school and sports.

I am working with a close friend of the family. Our hope is This go fund me, along with collections from the family’s church will help to not only pay the bills piling up  and  place dinner on the table but also help provide a Christmas for these children.

We have all been burdened this year. However, some have been crippled and hope is hard to find during the holiday season when you cannot provide for your own family.

They would have never asked for help or sought charity. Yesterday, when I told the mom I would pray for them she responded with, “ the Lord has always taken care of us and I know he will this time.”

Please help me in proving her right this Christmas and in gifting them some hope in this time of darkness. Let’s give these children a Christmas they deserve after such a hard year.
