Open-heart Surgery for 1 month old Gabie

My coworker & friend had a beautiful baby girl , Mary Gabrielle (Gabie) born 23 March 2019 in Manila, Philippines.

Gabie is just over one month old and has been diagnosed with Truncus Arteriosus – a rare type of heart disease in which a single blood vessel comes out of the right and left ventricles, instead of the two normal vessels ( pulmonary artery and aorta ).

This is a life-threatening heart defect for infants. 

If truncus arteriosus isn't repaired by surgery, most babies won't survive. Surgery to repair it is usually successful, and most babies recover well. However, some will need more surgeries as they grow. 

Gabie needs to undergo urgent open-heart surgery to fix her little heart & to give her the best chance to live a full life.

Unfortunately health insurance here in the Philippines won’t cover anywhere near the amount needed for this life saving operation which is around AUD$30K. Doctors here won’t operate without the money up front. 

We are asking for any donation, big or small so little Gabie can get this urgent open heart surgery ASAP.
