Open Your Heart for My Open Heart

On July 19, 2018, I will be undergoing open heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic to remove a blood clot that has formed around my port.  I've had this port in my body since July 13, 2007 that was used for chemotherapy for lupus nephritis. That's ELEVEN years with this port and it's time to say goodbye.

Now, my friends and family, this is not easy for me to do, but I need to ask for your help!  I'm starting to book accommodations for my parents and Ben. It's already out of our budget for us two school system employees (#55united!).  Many of you have said you'd like to help in any way, and this is the most helpful way that you can right now. We will need funds for my family to be with me during the surgery - shelter, food, gas, etc. My medical bills from all the diagnostic tests are piling up, but I have no idea how much this surgery will cost in total after insurance.  Anything raised over the goal amount will 100% be used for medical bills and associated costs. (And probably cat food, because ya know, our boys need to eat, too.)

I may never be able to repay you in money, but I guarantee you'll be repaid tenfold in love.
