Open Source, Low Cost PAPR to fight COVID19

We are a small team consisting of people with backgrounds in physics, engineering, medicine, clothing manufacture, and medical equipment development.  

At the start of the COVID19 pandemic outbreak in the US, some of the team members immediately put their skills to work producing Face Shields and protective body suits for healthcare workers to address the shortages that existed at the onset. 

Now that we have successfully delivered over a thousand face shields to healthcare workers and others on the front lines of the battle against COVID19, we have turned our attention to an even more critical piece of Personal Protective Equipment.

Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) provide the gold standard in protection for health care workers in the field, in the ICU, and in the Wards.  Normally, they are thousands of dollars for each unit. 

We intend to produce a PAPR design that is low cost, high quality (meeting all the recommended performance standards), can be fabricated using 3d printing technology plus easily sourced, common parts, and 100% open source so that others may reproduce it en masse. 

Design and Prototyping is already taking place, and we intend to begin testing within a few days.   Join us to make these critical pieces of PPE a reality for our frontline protectors so they can be safe while they work to protect us!
