University Bound

I am now coming to the end of my Peace Corps Service. I want to thank everyone who donated and spread the word about what I am trying to do. The money raised has helped two young women attend university. Sebe has completed her last year at UNISA, and we have paid the fees for a young woman, who came to me through a local women's organization SWAGAA, who can now complete university.

We have $500 left to raise before I leave! This money is for Hlopie. A young woman who completed her high diploma in business management. However, unable to pay the late fees she was not allowed to participate in graduation nor will they give her the diploma. This diploma is the difference between  Hlopie getting a job and working through college and her remaining stuck at home with no work and no future. She was a victim of sexual assault and used that pain to become a mentor to young girls, running the girls empowerment club in a neighboring community. She overcame her own pain to inspire and encourage other young girls. There is little I can do in these last few months but if we work together we can make this happen! 

A little goes a long way, to my friends and family, post on your Facebook walls, share with friends, and remember every little bit helps and we cannot move forward in this world while so many are being left behind.
