Help for the Bleeker Family

Hi everybody, I just want to tell you a story about a dear friend of mine.
Karen Bleeker , an amzing wife and mother of 6, now faces a life that no mother or wife could ever imagine. Her beautiful husband Malcome at the very early age of 50, has been diagnosed with early onset Fronto Temporal Dementia AND Motor Neuron Disease. Malcome is a man that has dedicated his working life to helping under privilaged kids whilst employed with The Department of Community Services Australia, ( DOC's). At the same time he has been blessed to be a father to 6 beautiful children, all of which face a life without their amazing father. Karen his wife, is also a lady that before becoming a mother spent her time helping other people kids. Her amazing spirit is in now broken by the immediate loss that she faces. Karen and her kids have an uncertain future as you can imagine.
Mal is now in the fourth stage and losing control of his arms, hand, swallowing ( he chokes on his food), speaking and soon breathing. He can no longer hold his head up for long periods at a time. He is very vague and needs help dressing and showering and the basic chores like making his bed....this was a strong man ...a husband and father of 6! Last May they said he had a prognosis of 2- 5 years, but the coupling of the two diseases increases the rate at which he deteriorates.
For Karen, the finacial strain is overwhelming. Just Malcomes ongoing care alone is in the price range of a small 3 bedroom house, let alone bringing up and providing for 6 children, the youngest being just 7 years of age.
I urge you all to find that compassionate spirit and put yourself in Karens shoes for just a minute. To be able to give what little you can afford would mean a great deal to this family. As they say 'a little goes along way'!
