Treatment for Stage IV Cancer

Hello everyone! My name is Erika. Me and my sister, Karine, decided to sign up for gofundme in order to raise money for alternative treatment for our mother. Our mom was diagnosed with High-Grade Uterine Leiomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer, in October 2014. On New Year's eve we learned that the cancer had aggressively metastasized to her lungs and various places in her abdomen. We began 2015 with fear, anxiety, anger, and complete frustration over the infamously unanswered question: Why? We began chemotherapy quickly after receiving the horrible news, and to our disappointment we recently found out chemotherapy has not been working; her tumors have all doubled in size and new tumors have formed. She has over a dozen tumors scattered in each lobe of the lung and several tumors in her abdominal region. This cancer is very fast paced and unpredictable. My research has lead me to find a very promising treatment for my mother's cancer called Virotherapy...more specifically, Rigvir. This treatment entails converting a virus into a therapeutic agent to treat diseases. These types of therapies have shown many promising results in different countries, however it is unavailable here in the U.S. We will need to travel to a different country and pay out of pocket for this treatment, which is something that we cannot afford. In addition to the Rigvir, doctors strongly suggest we complete Rigvir along with a series of other alternative treatments because of the severity of my mothers diagnosis. For these reasons, we have chosen to travel to Mexico, the closest destination that provides the treatment my mother so desperately needs. With your help, I really believe that we can get this treatment and it will save my mother. Time is not on our side.
