Onyx and Briana's Recovery

As many of you know Eli and I love animals, and dogs especially. We own three dogs and they are our family and our babies. Last Wednesday, July 12th our dogs Onyx and Clover got in to a terrible fight while we were out of the house. When Eli got home they both had sustained serious injuries and we rushed them to the animal hospital ER. They both had surgery all night long to get multiple sutures and drains to make sure fluid didn't build up. This was very uncharacteristic as they had grown up together for the last 3 years. The following day I was taking Clover to the bathroom and when we got inside Onyx had gotten lose and was staring at us. I lunged toward Onyx to try to push her outside, but was attacked on my arm by Clover because she was trying to get to Onyx. I sustained a serious dog bite across my entire right forearm, as well as fracture to my radius. Thankfully my neighbors heard me screaming and were able to get me out of the house. I had to undergo surgery to repair my arm while animal control was able to separate the dogs. Unfortunately Onyx sustained serious injuries and we were unsure if she was going to survive. She had to get teeth removed, arms and ears sewn up, and immense care to her chest. Her fever reached 109 degrees and we are thankful she doesn't have serious brain injuries. After multiple surgeries she is healing quickly. We are faced with not only my medical bills but also vet bills from multiple places and we can barely stay above water as is. Any help is greatly appreciated from Eli and I as we hate to ask for money, but we have no other choice. As for Clover, we sadly had to surrender her to the Humane Society as it is impossible to keep the dogs separate. However we are still paying off her vet bills as well. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! It will be a long journey of healing for Onyx and I both but we are mending quickly. The above picture was taken of Onyx Tuesday July 18th and she is so happy to have her bandages and drains removed, especially much sooner than the vets anticipated!

The money we are raising is going solely toward vet bills. We have bills going beyond $5,000 but raising even a little bit of money will help us out immensely.
