Ontario Autism Coalition Protest & Lobby Day
We've received Ontario government documents through Freedom of Information that show only 1/3 of children and youth on the waitlist will receive core services, and the rest will continue to wait. Estimates are that wait will be up to *SEVEN YEARS*, so we're going to Queen's Park to tell the government to fix the program. October 16 will be an outdoor protest, and the 17th will be a lobby event inside the building, talking to MPPs directly.
All of this will cost money. Outdoors, we'll need to pay for a sound system and an elevated stage. Protests of our size are required to supply port-a-potties. We'd love to bring people to the event by bus, but again, you guessed it, money. Indoors, we want to host a modest reception for MPPs, but there are 124 of them, so we'll have room and food costs.
We need some help with all of that, and your donation, large or small, will help make it happen. And if we actually have enough to pay for the things we need this time, anything left over will give us a head start for our next project.
Please give us all the support you can.
