Only Time Will Tell...

This is a very difficult subject to discuss, and honestly it has been spoken about to family and friends only a handful of times. My name is Rufus Adams. My wife and I have been together for 20 years, married for 10 of them. We knew we wanted children right after marriage, only it did not happen for us. My wife was diagnosed with blocked tubes soon after this discovery. We were told by a specialist that IVF was our only option which remains far from our financial reach. We started a special account in efforts to save up for the procedure, however a family emergency emerged and we gave what we had as a loan. We continued to stay positive and soon an opportunity came to adopt a family member's child. We waited months to make sure that this was their final decision, while constantly being reassured that it was. Although we were extremely excited and just knew that this was our light out of our deep, dark tunnel, all communication stopped and it was discovered that the baby would no longer be ours and they decided to keep it. It was like we lost our own child; only we understood that, so we mourned alone. We suffer in silence because we cannot expect others to understand what it is like not being able to start a family. My wife and I are at a complete standstill. While we continue to enjoy each other and our tight bond as husband and wife, we are longing to be called mom and dad. My wife recently discovered an alternative surgery that can repair the blocked tubes at a much lower cost than IVF, only we will need a little help. Again we remain extremely positve and know that a breakthrough is coming. If nothing can be given, thoughts and prayers are always welcomed and thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
