Urgent help for Cyclone affected Kefalonians

Dear Friends and supporters of the beautiful island of Kefalonia,
We are asking for your ongoing support for 60 struggling families in the Sami municipality who lost so much in Cyclone Ianos in September 2020. Their basic and immediate needs for food staples and hygiene/ cleaning products are still being supplemented by the Social Grocery Food Bank in Agia Efimia .
The multiple adverse effects of Ianos, loss of the last tourist season due to Covid 19 and two lock downs causing job losses, have badly affected the most vulnerable. The local municipality has asked us, as volunteers involved in the past cyclone relief efforts, if we can assist further.
They are specifically requesting food and cleaning products. Therefore, with all funds raised we will buy basic supermarket items such as, rice, lentils, tins of tomatoes, flour, pulses, oil, marmalade, coffee, soap, washing up liquid, Ajax, chlorine, rubbish bags.
Your help will supplement a major drive on the island for ongoing assistance.
We, a small group of both Greek and UK volunteers living in Kefalonia and abroad, know there are many of our overseas friends who regularly visit the island who would want to help with this cause.
The affected families in the Sami/ Ayia Efimia region will be very appreciative of any help you can give. Please help us reach our target. Thank you so much for your ongoing assistance.
