One Opportunity Hiring

One Opportunity Hiring is a staffing agency designed to help provide a second chance employment opportunity for individuals with criminal records. Oneopphiring.com is a staffing agency currently based out of La Crosse, WI. The company will service local counties, but has hopes of expanding to a nation-wide service. Donations will be used to pay for moving to a larger office space! “I didn’t need a second-chance after I was released from incarceration, I just needed ONE OPPORTUNITY to prove myself as a motivated employee.” - Kody Green (Founder/ Executive Director) Thanks to your generosity, and one particularly motivated donor, we are happy to announce that we achieved the goal for our first fundraiser! The initial fund raiser was posted to raise the money needed for our legal fees to complete our Non-Profit status. We very much appreciate your generosity! We look forward to the work we will be able to do, once our non- profit status is secured. Due to the success of our first fundraiser, we have decided to pursue a larger goal. We will be starting a new GOFUNDME page to raise the funds for a year lease in a larger office space. As we complete the process of becoming an official non profit organization, we are going to need room to grow! Therefore, we need more space to accommodate the changes that will be coming along with becoming a non profit. Now that we are in the process of securing our non-profit status, we have chosen a group of professionals from with in our community to be our One Opportunity Hiring Board of Directors. Adding these individuals to our organization will bring the knowledge and expertise we need to succeed as a company. With them joining our organization, we are going to need a larger space in which to conduct board meetings. These decisions made by these individuals will be crucial to our success, so it is imperative that we have an area large enough for our board to meet on a regular basis. In order to help serve our community and create second chances for people with criminal records, as well as their prospective employers, we would like to expand the number of interviews we perform a week. We need a space large enough to allow us to set up a proper waiting area, so that we can ensure our clients confidentiality during their interview. Having a waiting area will allow us to keep a timely schedule of client interviews during our business hours, while also providing a space to distribute educational materials for job success, help lines, and other community organizations geared at helping Second Chance employees. Another service we would like to expand is the availability of business attire for our clients to use for interviews. We need adequate space for job applicants try professional wear on if they would like. We also need to ensure clothing for all sizes and genders is provided. We intend to provide other essential interview materials, such as stationary, pad folios, and briefcases. We want our clients to have success during their interview and after. Given enough space, we would also like to provide on the job essentials, such as Buisseness casual wear, safety toe shoes, comfortable foot wear for jobs requiring long terms of standing ect. Many of these items are required once a job seeker is hired. Having access to these items could only increase the likelihood of our clients and employers finding success in a a new job placement. Finally, as we grow our services, we look forward to bringing aboard volunteers and interns. Eventually, we want to be a well rounded in our services, and conduct mock interviews, resume assistance, and guidance on a professional online appearance.
