Dipu & Shivam's Surgery Fund

Donation protected

I originally started this GoFundMe to ask for your donations toward our annual Home of Hope costs. But now we are faced with a dire need...

Dipu & Shivam, two of the ten boys in our Home of Hope, are in desperate need of life-changing surgeries. The three invasive orthopedic surgeries will cost us a total of $25,000 including the rehabilitation proccess. But the impact these surgeries will have on our boys and their development is absolutely priceless.

At present, Dipu is in constant pain.  Dipu was born with Craniosynostosis, a birth defect in which the bones in a baby's skull join together too early, causing swelling of the brain. He is lucky he survived. But he was left with 70% paralysis in his right arm and leg. He received a botched surgery at the age of 6 (3 years before we rescued him) to try and "heal" his paralysis. This surgery has caused even more problems for him. Not only is he in constant pain, but the doctors said his muscles are basically in the process of fossilizing and if it is not corrected soon, it may lead to severe infection. He needs Ankle Arthroscopic surgery and Shaving of Cartilage Arthroscopic surgery.

Shivam is on the Autism spectrum. He has come a long way since he first came to us 8 months ago. But his physical disability is now obstructing his development process. Both of Shivam's hands are badly disfigured. Doctors said the damage to Shivam's hands could have been caused by an injury or a birth defect and was worsened by years of neglect. He is unable to keep his fingers straight which prevents him from learning to eat on his own, use the bathroom on his own, and do normal every day tasks on his own. Doctors are urging us to get his tendon replacement surgery done in both hands, before the problem worsens. With this surgery, Shivam's quality of life will improve drastically and his development will rapidly advance.

Please consider donating to give Dipu and Shivam the gift of life.

Any amount will help. Every donation is a step closer to changing their lives. Please follow us on Instagram where we will be updating you more about Dipu's and Shivam's needs. @onelifeloved

Thank you and God bless you all!

The original GoFundMe story is below:

In 2010, I was horrified to hear there were more than 100,000 children living on the streets in Delhi, India. So I moved there and began living and working among those children. In 2013, I rescued 10 children from the streets and welcomed them into my home. I set up a non-profit in USA, One Life to Love, to help fund my efforts.

Today we are caring for these 10 young children, each with mental and physical disabilities. On top of this, we are sponsoring over 400 underprivileged girls from our community to go to school, in order to curb the drop-out rate of girls.

We are in need of a minimum of $48,000 per annum in order to continue this work. Your donations go to help feed, shelter, clothe, educate and care for our 10 orphans and 400 underprivileged girls.

We hire professionals in India to help care for our children and run our orphanage and education program. The major costs involved in running our programs are food, medical care, education materials, rent & overhead.

We have made it possible so that One Life to Love spends minimal on administration expenses, allowing the maximum funds to go directly to the children we serve.

This is my life. This is my purpose. I have invested not only my resources, but my entire life to this cause. I ask you to join me in some capacity. These children are the future and I have so much hope & love for each one of them!
