Help ME Help Children in Haiti

Donation protected
WHO AM I?
Hi, my name is Marie Valborge and I believe that to improve Haiti's state of affairs, we have to start with the children. For the people who know me, they know I have a special place in my heart for kids and have been donating my time and resources to help disadvantaged children in Haiti for as long as I can remember. Haiti is my home and while I've been blessed to have left and make a life for myself in the U.S., others aren't so lucky. SO I'm stepping out on faith and reaching out to you to help me make a difference in the lives of children, whom you don't know but will be so appreciative of your donation.

WHY ARE YOU READING THIS?
I currently own land in Savann Blonn, Haiti and would like to develop a multi-purpose facility to provide the children in the communitiy with necessary tools such as shelter, food, education and skills. I need your help and believe that together we can make meaningful improvements in these children's lives.

I believe Haiti's success starts with the children and if we don't invest in them then all hope for Haiti is lost. Establishing this go-fund me is my way of organizing a larger movement to contribute in a more meaningful and long term way.

DO YOU KNOW?

Haiti is ranked 77 out of 79 in the 2012 Global Hunger Index and suffers from a dramatic income gap and an estimated 3.8 million Haitians, or 38 percent of the population, is food insecure.

The majority of Haitians lack access to quality education. Primary school enrollment is roughly 85% and the average Haitian, age 25 years or older, has less than 5 years of schooling. Additionally, school fees can be prohibitively expensive for low-income families.

WHY THESE CHILDREN?
Honestly, there are people in need everywhere in Haiti
and children are at a even higher risk. However, rather than focus on the enormity of the situation, I'm choosing to start where I can which is in the community where I visit and own property. The children I'm looking to help today live in the community and I've kind of adopted them. Currently, I'm helping to support about 50 kids but am hoping with your patronage I can help more kids in the community.

Being a frequent visitor to Haiti, I have a first-person's account of the despair these children face and am looking to partner with the locals to help this community break the cycle of poverty by empowering these kids to dream, aspire, and achieve.

YOUR DONATION WILL...
- Go towards building a multi-purpose facility that will provide boarding as well as education
- Funds teachers, books and extracurricular activities to help get these youngsters off to the right start.
- Go towards providing daily meals
- Training in sustainable agriculture development in the community

WAIT A MINUTE
There are more ways you can help besides providing a monetary gift. If you have clean gently used clothes, books, baby supplies, toys etc. please feel free to send them my way. I appreciate any and everything

BEFORE YOU GO...
And I've already gotten started. The land is bought but I need your help to build a multi-purpose dwelling to house these children. The land sits across from the ocean and is severely under-developed. Please know that if you decide you're not in a position to help I will continue to forge forward and help these children anyway I can.

But this is my attempt to source more resources than I'm capable of doing alone to get this off the ground sooner and truly maximize the chances for success!!

So help me help these children. No donation is too small and will be critical in providing these children with the necesseties they need to break the cycle of poverty.

THANK YOU!!
