On Earth Coffee will be a coffee shop that provides an environment of community and personal growth. Using the “Pay what you can” model and delivering a high quality product will result in successful long-term growth and continuity.
A bit more on the "pay what you can" model and why this is central to our vision:
Under this model, each customer can pay only as much as they can afford. For example, customers are told at the register, "Your suggested total is $3; how much would you like to pay?" If the customer cannot afford it at all, then no problem! If they can pay only $1, or would like to pay the full suggested price, that's fine too. If customers feel led to "pay it forward," they can contribute more than the suggested total - this helps to pay for those down the line who may not be able to afford their purchase.
We are excited about this model because we have seen it in action - our good friends opened up a similar coffee shop in Enid, Oklahoma. We visited there last summer and were inspired by how much of a positive influence the coffee shop was making in the community. It was also encouraging to see that the coffee shop not only covered its overhead each month, but came out ahead.
If On Earth Coffee ends up turning a "profit" after expenses are paid, the proceeds will be either used to grow the business, or used to support other charities and community causes - hopefully with an emphasis on worldwide missions.
We are passionate about getting this started and think this will be transformative for the community! We need these funds for renovations and initial start up costs. We really appreciate your support and would love for you to be a part of this with us; anything helps!
