One Teacher for One Year is a funding campaign for the kids at Tuon Community Centre in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
This school cares for 42 students 7 days a week who range in age from 2 to 17 and most come from broken families. All of them live in conditions of poverty most of us can only imagine. They receive no government funding or support of any kind. They rely totally upon donations and desperately need funds for school resources, teachers, and even food.
Lemongrass & Ginger Hotel is a proud supporter of Tuon Community Centre and is launching a campaign of awareness in conjunction with support from St Louis Secondary School in Ireland to give these kids the hope for the brighter future that they deserve.
One Teacher for One Year is Stage 1 of an ongoing commitment to improve the education and lives of these kids. We're targeting $2400 as our initial goal which is enough to fund a professional teacher to work at the school for 1 year. By receiving quality education from a permanent teacher the kids will know a sense of stability and trust that will improve their learning.
