One giant leap of trust, hope, and love!

It is with a mix of terror, excitement, and sheer hope that I ask for your help today.

In the biggest leap of faith of my life I just quit my thriving yoga career at Down Under Yoga and signed a lease on my own yoga studio in a gorgeous live/work space in Providence, Rhode Island where I have lived for the past 6 years.

As many of you know, I have wanted to make this step every day of the 6 years I've been teaching, but it always seemed impossible (yes, I coincidentally started teaching yoga as soon as I moved to Providence. I found no yoga I liked in this city so instead of opening my own spot I have made the three hour round trip commute to teach yoga in MA for 6 years. Wicked smart, one might say.)

I have very little money, student loans that still remind me I have a degree in Nutrition, and a skill set useful for a sweaty motivational speaker with a camera who can gather a crowd and humbly ask for help, but that's about it. I have let the fear of not being good enough, rejection, and embarrassment keep me locked in a life that is becoming more lonely and terrified as the years go on. I have nowhere to turn, but up and out of this place, I have to face my fears head on.

What once felt impossible, now feels the very opposite. If not now, when? It's time to trust fall into my community who has told me for the past 6 years how less alone you feel when you hear me admit my own pain and fear. And if you are not my yoga student (yet) but my photography client, I absolutely hope I have made you feel loved, supported, beautiful, and worthy every time we're together. That has surely been my intent. Though I'm scared to ask for help, I have nowhere else to turn and if I really have helped you over the years, I hope you can help me now in any way you can. I'm deciding to see this moment as the necessary painful time that serves as the fertile ground of change. When my life is over I don't want the pain to be the thing I remember, I want to see this time as when the pressure got so heavy and the sadness so deep that a change for the better was my only way out. The time for post traumatic growth is now.

 

I found an incredible space in the neighborhood of Olneyville in Providence where I will move into and live above my own studio with my two incredible pups, Murphy and Ruby June. To offset the cost of the studio I will AirBnB the home I live in now which I love sharing with like minded travelers and their pups.

Little Rhody Hot Power Yoga will initially just be me as the sole teacher, and I am open and excited to see how far this golden thread of hope can roll. The sky's the limit and the time is now.   

My lease begins on October 1st, and I would love to hit the ground running with construction and renovations as soon as I get the keys.  Here are the financial needs of the space by October 1st:
