Dan's Oncological Odyssey Charity Sky Plummet

A little over a year ago, after months of scans and consultations I learned I had stage four lung cancer.  I would far rather have been told I had won a three-week vacation to a landfill site with nothing to eat but maggot-infested road kill and Fox News for company, but that wasn’t to be.  I had an incurable DNA-mutated tumour in my lung.  And I was dying.  Still, it could have been worse.

This was January 2020, and in early February I had half a lung lopped-out and a few weeks later Covid arrived. 

Everyone was locked-down, and many, if not all of us were scared.  But the weather was good, and so I took-off on my motorcycle with a flask of tea to find rivers to sit next to where I could watch kingfishers and contemplate… futility.

I have been wanting to throw myself from an airplane for some time (you know; with a parachute), and having cancer is what has inspired me, simply, to get on and do the things that I need to do. 

I would love to tick 'Parachute Jump' off my bucket list, and hope you can contribute to the amazing organisation that is MacMillan Cancer Support, an organisation that has been there for me throughout this time.
