2 weeks ago I came across an amazing boy named Angel. I was taken away by his contagious smile and laughter. As he was working hard during his physical therapy I caught myself wondering.. What more could he do? You see, Angel was born with no hands or feet. He is a very capable boy and does the best he can with what he has... but what if he had more? So I went to my trusty computer and came across an entire community devoted to helping both children and adults 3D print prosthetic limbs for themselves and others all across the globe. So, being very impatient like I am, I purchased a 3D printer on my credit card and ordered the basic peices and parts needed to make a hand for Angel. That was 2 weeks ago... Just today I was able to fit Angel with his very own prosthetic hand that he is able to move without anyone elses help! I am very proud of what I was able to do in just 2 short weeks but again I ask myself, what if I can do more? Angels' hand is able to open and close but to make it useful to him, he needs a design more specific to him and his body along with various mechanisms to create a left and a right arm more functional for him. And why stop at Angel? Working at a special needs clinic, we come across all sorts of children with different needs where this can be useful. So this is where I need your help! I am asking for $2500 to help supply more materials and parts that are needed to continue creating more devices for children that need it. These devices are absolutely FREE to each child and my time is volunteered. The reward of helping children in our community is what drives me and with your support, we can create possibilities for kids that weren't there before!
