Single Mom of 6 Needs New Minivan

For the last several years, my wife and I have been helping to support a single mother of six children, two of which have special needs. Despite battling extreme odds, this woman has methodically continued to strive for a better life for herself and her children.  After hitting rock bottom with no money, no family support, and no place to live, she refused to quit and kept fighting. Many years of hard work later, she is about to graduate with honors from her school and will be qualified to work as a Medical Assistant. She also is only a couple of weeks away from obtaining her CNA certification. Both of these accomplishments position her to transition off of welfare and begin building a new life for herself and a new legacy for her kids.

Last week a hit and run driver broad-sided her minivan, crushing the right front fender. As this destroyed the entire headlight assembly, she is no longer able to drive the vehicle at night. The van itself was a high-mileage used vehicle we were able to obtain for her a couple of years ago, and was already on its last legs. With six children, four of which are required to be in child or booster seats, she requires a minivan to be able to legally transport her family.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 in order to purchase a van to replace her current vehicle. We have been blessed by having a couple of automobile wholesalers agree to find a high quality used vehicle for us. We would love to be able to present the vehicle to the woman as a graduation present of sorts, as the need is immediate. This is a woman who has worked very hard to beat the odds and overcome circumstances that would defeat most people
