Omar’s Covid-19 Battle

Donation protected

Omar started feeling unwell on the 10th of March with a fever and cough. Didn’t think too much of it and carried on as normal. He went out for his birthday on the 13th and on the 14th the ambulance took him into the hospital with shortness of breath. They discharged him less than 24 hours later and instructed him to self-isolate away from his wife, Kaitlyn, and two young children.

He suffered for an entire week and finally on Friday the 19th, his brother called an ambulance and they rushed him to Colchester General Hospital. His oxygen levels were incredibly low and could barely breathe.

He tested positive for COVID-19 on the 21st of March.

They kept him on an isolation ward for 3 days. As he showed no sign of improvement, they transferred him to the Intensive Care Unit. He spent 4 days awake there trying to breathe and get better.

Early hours of Tuesday morning (31/03/20) he deteriorated to the point where the critical care team took over and put him to sleep in a medically induced coma, on a ventilator and have now taking over all aspects of his body functions with the use of machines.

Omar is currently stable, but very critical and every second counts.

Kaitlyn is a very hard working Support Worker and she also works for the NHS at Colchester General Hospital. She is also a highly dedicated Student Nurse at the University of Essex. Kaitlyn has two jobs, trying to complete her nursing degree and taking care of 2 young children.

Kaitlyn’s entire family live in America and Omar’s family is currently stuck in Egypt waiting patiently for a flight to become available.

Please help in supporting his wife, children, and family at thi

Many people have reached out to Kaitlyn and her family of how they can support them, and for right now I think this is the best way we can give the Taylor family 1 less thing to worry about!

Thank you for the bottom of my heart for your support and kindness!
