The Oloolua Forest in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, needs saving and conserving.
We need forests to breathe, and biodiversity to survive. Oloolua Forest is under threat from new roads, stone quarrying, tree cutting and pollution caused by dumping. New infrastructure has left the forest fragmented and more vulnerable than ever before.
Our mission is to protect and conserve what remains of the Oloolua Forest by fencing it and so protect this rare gem for future generations.
We aim to create sustainable opportunities for the neighbouring communities and provide a safe recreational environment for Nairobi residents. Protecting the forest is essential for everyone.
In the words of the late, great Wangari Maathai, Environmentalist, Nobel Peace Prize Winner 2004:
"We are called to assist the earth to heal her wounds and in the process heal our own."
