New Service Dog For Olivia

Hi my name is Olivia Bowen.  I am almost eleven and a half years old.  I enjoy doing crafts, hunting, reading, and hanging out with my little brother and my dogs.  I am starting this GoFundMe Page to help me get my second service dog.

 My current service dog Garfield is 10 years old and isn’t getting around very well because he tore his ACL. I have had him since I was about four years old.  He has been an important part of my life.  He alerts to my medical equipment when it alarms and gets my parents.  He is also a very loving, and affectionate dog that tries to be a lap dog. (He’s a Yellow Lab/ Golden Retriever mix, so he’s a little big for lying in your lap, but he still does it!)   I have CCHS (Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome). It is a lifelong disease that I’ve had since birth.  Basically, I need a machine to help me breathe all the time.  

When you donate to help me get another service dog, you’ll be helping me gain independence.  I will be the handler for the new service dog since I am old enough and the dog will alert me to my alarms.  I have applied and been approved to get a successor dog from ECAD (Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities. To visit their website go to www.ecad1.org )   I will be traveling to Connecticut for two weeks to get certified as a handler.
