My mother is Olivia S. Dueñas; she just turned 85 this June 2017. Last week, her home in Monterey Park was viciously burglarized and ransacked. She has lived in this home since 1967. Aside from the extensive damage upon entering, the burglars took her mother’s treasured jewelry, her own jewelry (investments), and a large amount of cash. Mom lost thousands of hard earned money and irreplaceable items that she and my father worked and saved for many years. Unfortunately, the home insurance will only reimburse a ridiculously small fraction of her loss. This is because.… no endorsements on their valuables.
My mom has been very ill since 2014 and finally in 2016 was diagnosed with a medium grade cancerous tumor in her intestine. Just before they could schedule her surgery, she came down with a painful and severe case of shingles on her face. The pain has lingered since August 2016 to date! Just the Lidocaine pain patches she needs for her lingering nerve pain, are not covered by Medicare, cost $400.00 per box!
Finally, October 1, 2016, they performed emergency surgery. Her recovery has been slow but improving, taking 1 day at a time.
But, last month, in June, she developed pneumonia and was hospitalized again. While she was in care and recovering, the culprits burglarized her home.
We are humbly asking our friends and family for your help and appreciate any amount donation. My mom is very depressed at this violation of her home and treasures. She feels betrayed and abandoned by the insurance company. Any help would show there is hope in this world and people do care.
