Olivia Long Memorial Fund
My name is Arana Long and I have set up this GoFundMe to receive donations to honor my daughter, Olivia Long. Olivia died August 27, 2021 following a tragic car accident. So many of you have reached out to our family with words of encouragement and support. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Many of you have also asked what else you can do to support us through the unimaginable loss of our daughter.
If you would like to do something for us, PLEASE do not send flowers or food. We would like to honor Olivia by raising funds to support Lake Orion High School Volleyball and the Michigan State Women's Rowing Team. Our intent is to create scholarships or something similar in Olivia's name.
These two organizations meant so much to Olivia and helped mold her into the dedicated, confident lady and advocate that she was. We would like to provide other young women the opportunity to grow their confidence in themselves through sports just as Olivia was able to do.
Update Sept 6: We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support by our family, friends, neighbors, community and even those we have never met. We have surpassed our original goal of $20,000 and are planning to use the additional funds for community/school programs focused on creating a more inclusive environment. Olivia's legacy of being welcoming and inclusive will live on.
